NOVEMBER 2023
TO THE PEOPLE AND GOVERNMENTS OF MEXICO AND THE WORLD
TO THE NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL SIXTH
TO THE MEDIA
Following the call for solidarity for Hurricane Otis made in October, we have contacted our sisters and brothers who suffered the ravages of this catastrophe, to deliver the aid generated by the solidarity of many comrades from Mexico and around the world.
To date, we have received, at the “Samir Flores Soberanes” House of the People, approximately one and a half tons of food, clothing, water, and medicine, which were delivered to the Peasant Organization of the Sierra del Sur-Tepetixtla (OCSS), located on the Costa Grande in the state of Guerrero.
We have also received a total of 332,597.99 pesos in our bank account as of the third week of November, through 196 bank deposits and transfers.
All these donations were received not only from people in our country, but from various countries around the world, which speaks to the internationalist and national solidarity between those at the bottom and those on the left. These varied amounts, diverse individual and collective efforts, cannot be fully reflected in just the numbers and amounts received. But we know, sisters and brothers, that you reached out to us in these difficult times, there is no doubt about that.
These donations have been allocated as follows:
-$200,000.00 (two hundred thousand pesos) delivered to the OCSS-Tepetixtla, which was used to purchase 7 tons of seeds, as well as groceries and household goods to support 13 community kitchens in the municipality of Coyuca de Benítez, distributed among 5 neighborhoods in the municipal seat, 2 shelters, and 6 communities within the municipality.
-$32,000.00 (thirty-two thousand pesos) delivered to the Indigenous and Popular Council of Guerrero-Emiliano Zapata (CIPOG-EZ), used to purchase sheeting and wood to repair the roofs of 50 homes in the communities of Pie de Tierra, Barrios de Guadalupe, and Tierra Blanca in the Montaña Alta region of Guerrero state.
There is currently a remainder of these donations that will be used to continue supporting these organizations and communities in the state of Guerrero and belonging to the National Indigenous Congress, which is why we call on men and women of good heart, the collectives of the National and International Sixth and the peoples of Mexico and the world, to continue the solidarity in support of the affected indigenous peoples of the state of Guerrero, being able to deliver donations in kind to the address of the House of the Peoples “Samir Flores Soberanes”, located at Av. México-Coyoacán 343, colonia Xoco, Alcaldía Benito Juárez, Mexico City, CP03330; and bank deposits and transfers in support of these peoples and communities to account number 0113643034, CLABE 012540001136430347, SWIFT code BCMRMXMMPYM, at BBVA México, branch 1769.
